Gezonde tussendoortjes kunnen nog wel eens een ‘dingetje’ zijn. Als je het supermarktschap met tussendoortjes als Liga en Sultana moet geloven, ben je daar aan het juiste adres. Ik geef liever de voorkeur aan zelfgemaakte snacks, of snacks zonder enige toevoegingen (denk: fruit en groenten). Vaak zitten de supermarkttussendoortjes alsnog vol geraffineerde suiker en e-nummers. En dat is toch hartstikke zonde?! Je kunt namelijk zo gemakkelijk voor een gezond tussendoortje kiezen.
Wat zijn gezonde tussendoortjes?
Onderstaande lijst bevat een mix van zelfgemaakte, gezonde tussendoortjes en kant-en-klare, soms met recept. Het belangrijkste voor mij aan deze lijst is dat de snacks veel voedingsstoffen bevatten en dus vrij zijn van onnodige toevoegingen als smaak-, geur- en kleurstoffen en met zo min mogelijk toegevoegd suiker. Gewoon ‘echt eten’!
1. Fruit
Altijd een goed idee, want veel vitamines, mineralen en antioxidanten! Combineer het met wat noten (vetten), zodat je bloedsuikerspiegel stabiel blijft. Tip: kies fruit uit het seizoen!
2. Rauwkost
Het fijne van rauwkost: je kunt er vrijwel onbeperkt van eten. Goede vulling, weinig calorietjes. Combineer het eventueel met een hummus, yoghurt of een tzatziki dip. Denk aan wortels, paprika, komkommer, tomaatjes, bleekselderij, etc.
3. Rijstwafel(s)
Met gezond beleg zoals een gekookt eitje, hummus, pindakaas, avocado of hüttenkäse.

4. Vezelrijke (volkoren) cracker of boterham
Belangrijk is dat je deze cracker of boterham wel gezond belegd (zie rijstwafels voor inspiratie). Kies wel voor volkoren (spelt) brood en het liefst op basis van zuurdesem i.p.v. gist.
5. Geroosterde kikkererwten
Kikkererwten bevatten veel eiwitten, B-vitamines en vezels. Als je ze roostert met wat kruiden, kunnen ze prima door voor een gezonde borrelnoot! Kikkererwten zijn ook een goede plantaardige eiwitbron.

6. Kwark, (soja) yoghurt of andere (plantaardige) zuivel
Maak een lekker bakje met een van deze zuivelsoorten voor jezelf. Combineer dit met wat fruit en/of een beetje granola. Inspiratie vind je hier.
7. Bananenbrood
Bak je eigen bananenbrood (bijvoorbeeld volgens dit meesterlijke recept!) en neem een plakje als tussendoortje.
8. Ontbijtkoek
Maak dit alsjeblieft wel zelf. De supermarktvarianten zitten vol geraffineerde suiker. Dit recept met havermout van de site is echt een aanrader. En als je het niet zelf wilt maken, kies dan een volkoren variant zonder toegevoegd suiker uit de supermarkt.
9. Smoothie of juice
Maak zelf een smoothie recept van de site en houd deze smoothie handleiding bij de hand!
Handig: maak ’s ochtends een flinke smoothie als ontbijt en bewaar wat voor je tussendoortje. Maak je smoothie met deze waanzinnige food processor waar je ook mee kunt blenden (beste koop en als beste getest volgens de Consumentenbond 2024!)

10. Handje noten
Noten bevatten veel gezonde vetten. Maar ook veel calorieën. Overdrijf het dus niet. Een klein handje per dag is meer dan genoeg. Kies altijd voor ongebrand en ongezouten. Ook bevatten veel noten gezonde plantaardige eiwitten.
11. Eiwitshake
Eiwitten heb je nodig voor opbouw en behoud van o.a. je spieren. Daarbij verzadigen ze heel goed! Een eiwitrijk tussendoortje is daarom een goed idee, bijvoorbeeld een eiwitshake. Je zult niet snel naar iets ongezonds grijpen omdat je nog trek hebt. Een eiwitshake maak je bijvoorbeeld met whey of plantaardig eiwitpoeder. Kies ook nu voor kwaliteit (natuurlijk, geen toevoegingen).
12. Mueslireep/energybar
Ook hiervoor geldt: maak ze zelf! Bijvoorbeeld dit recept.
13. Edamame sojaboontjes
Heerlijk snackje! Favoriet als ik naar de bios ga en niet aan popcorn wil beginnen. Je hebt toch iets zoutigs en wat te snacken.
14. Healthy choco reepje
Denk aan raw reepjes als Ombar of Lovechock of aan een stukje 80% cacao choco. Ik ben er gek op! De reepjes van Ombar en Lovechock zitten bomvol voedingstoffen en je bent wel echt lekker van chocolade aan het genieten.
15. Augurk
Lekker old skool, maar naar mijn idee erg lekker! Eet er zo een paar of wikkel er een plakje kipfilet omheen. Beetje gek misschien, maar ik vind zilvervliesuitjes dus ook echt lekker. Hop, zo met een lepel uit de pot. Call me crazy…
16. Power balls/bliss balls
Deze balletjes maak je zelf, vaak op basis van noten, dadels en nog wat andere gezonde toevoegingen. Op de site vind je een paar receptjes, zoals deze cookie dough balls en brownie ballen.
17. Gezonde muffins
Ook even zelf maken natuurlijk! Tip: vries de muffins in en haal er ’s ochtens één uit de vriezer die je mee neemt naar je werk of school.
18. Popcorn
I luvvvvv popcorn. Liefst zout of hartig. En dat is dan ook de enige ‘verantwoorde’ optie. En eet er niet te veel van. Twee handjes is prima als snackje ’s avonds bij de film. Ik ben voorstander van zelf poffen en op smaak maken. Dan weet je tenminste zeker wat er in zit. En het is echt zo gepiept.
19. Olijven
Ook dit vind ik erg lekker! Check wel de ingrediëntenlijst goed. Sommige zijn niet zo gezond door veel toevoegingen of veel calorieën. In principe zijn ze redelijk calorie-arm. Olijven zijn een goede bron van (goede) vetten.
20. Kommetje soep
Maak een grote pan (groenten)soep. Soep bevat veel voedingsstoffen en vrij weinig calorieën, mits dus zelf gemaakt. Een kommetje als tussendoortje is een prima idee.
